The Black Delta Movement
A heavy garage rock & roll outfit from Kingston-Upon-Hull, England. Formed in July 2010, The Black Delta Movement played their first show at Hulls Freedom Festival and released their first EP 3 months later. The BDM have since released four more EP’s and four singles all of which to sell-out launch parties.
The Black Delta Movement’s music consists of soaring vocals with choppy, fuzz-laden and reverb-heavy guitars all backed by a heavy rhythm section.
Having played 280 shows since their formation, The Black Delta Movement has built up a solid reputation as an outstanding live act. The band have supported bands such as Little Barrie, The Jesus And Mary Chain, Embrace, The Stranglers, The Alabama Three, Kaiser Chiefs, Temples, Drenge, Toy, The View, Shaun Ryder, Jefferson Airplane, Steve Cradock. The band were due to go on tour as support for Little Barrie until the sad death of Virgil Howe.
The band has recently recorded their first album ‘Preservation’ with Mike Burnham for a spring release and with major plans for the next twelve months. UK and European tours on the horizon in what promises to be an exciting 2018.
Previous releases have gained the interest of Liz Kershaw (6Music), Steve Lamacq (6Music), Rodney Bingenheimer (KROQ), James Meynell (Soho Radio), Hugh Stevens (Radio 1)and have been played on KCRW.
Recent successful shows in Moscow led to the band being approached by Russian producer, Ilya Mazaev, who, having seen their live act, asked if he could record the band. This resulted in a recording, Medusa, which was released in March.
The Black Delta Movement has built a solid reputation as a live act and recently completed a successful European Tour, travelling over 6,500 miles and visiting 8 countries.
